About Us
Let me introduce myself. I am Elizabeth Anne Algren Iovino. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, business owner, seamstress, gardener and avid Red Sox fan. I care deeply about those in my life and firmly believe we all touch each others lives for a reason. Good or bad, every situation teaches us a life lesson, it is what you do with the lesson that counts.
I have been left-brained/right-brained challenged my entire life. Always the treasurer of the lemonade stand, but also designing clothes for my dolls and creating gardens in the yard. I graduated from Providence College in 1985 with a degree in Accounting and have worked in the field since graduation. 2009 was a difficult year with the passing of my mother, Helen Mary Kelly Algren on April 28th. She is my inspiration and decided to make a few bold changes. I have recently closed my practice to pursue this entirely different venture of designing and finely handcrafting handbags, totes and accessories.
MIO Bags began with a simple idea - to make products that have form and FUNction! As a mother, you are always looking for products that make your life streamlined and are easy to clean. As a woman, you want products that make you look good, no make that great! My mission here is to combine the two into one. Who say you can't be practical and pretty at the same time! Oilcloth allows for this exact premise. Take a look around the site and see what you think. I am always open to design ideas, so if you see something that could use a little tweaking, drop me a line and I will see what I can come up with to help you along.
Our mission is simple: to provide the best products and service to our customers as possible. We take great pride in our company, our commitment to customer service and in the products we sell.
